Apparently, Opera Software updated their Opera Show pages. At Opera Show Centre you can create simple and portable presentations, online.

New users is explained what Opera Show is all about, and how they can get started. Beware though, it’s still a technical preview.

Ondertussen zijn we een uur later; toch een mooie reclame voor een bepaald OS, de ganse nacht…

Het is trouwens toch ook wel merkwaardig dat die toepassing blijkbaar in Flash is, niet?

Judging from the number of comments on Discogs, they appear to be very welll known, although I’ve never heard of them before. Maybe that’s because I’m “fairly new” to IDM kind of music.

They seem to be related with The Black Dog in some way and their latest album Spokes is also praised. I’ll check out both of them later…

Opera 7.60, or at least a preview of it, has finally arrived, as said. This is and will be ofcourse again a very big update with lot’s of cool and brand new features. These are the most exciting/important:

• Gmail should work better now, support for XMLHttpRequest, XMLSerializer, and DOMParser was added.
• Transparent background (wmode) support for plug-ins. Many people will be happy with transparent Flash support.
• CSS3 speech module and XHTML+Voice 1.2. You can give commands via your mic to Opera, and add your own, or let Opera read text by pressing and holding Scroll Lock and saying “speak”. See this page for a tutorial, or check out some examples: What do you want to eat today? Chinese or Italian?
• Presto: stability improved, bugs smashed and SSR will include more of the page’s styling.
• MSR was added, which adjusts the page to the width of the window or device (View > Fit to width).
• New option for first time use: “Use Opera as an internet suite” or “Use Opera as brower Only”.
• Implemented in-line error pages: Opera 7.60 features in-line error pages, allowing you to continue to work if a page loading in the background gives an HTTP error. The error pages include helpful tips to troubleshoot possible problems and stay out of your way until you are ready to deal with them. (Example)

Oh, and, yes; Opera has gained some weight, that’s because of the voice support. The final version will also be made available withouth CSS3 speech module and XHTML+Voice 1.2 support.

Vorige week vrijdag praktisch rijexaampje afgelegd. Geslaagd met glans, op de manoevres na. Bij keren in een straat had ik hem van de eerste keer toch wel niet zeker…

Zoals het elke goede examinator betaamt, zat de proef op de baan vol met addertjes onder het asfalt. Elvendertig Zone 30’s en “Uitgezonderd-plaatselijk-verkeer”-straatjes.

De opmerkingen waren:

• Te veel manoevres bij “keren in een straat”: klopt.
• Te vaak geschakeld: Gewoon omdat ik economisch rij in hoge versnellingen en mijn remblokken spaar door te remmen op de motor…?
• Onaangepaste snelheid: Ik reed 40 waar je 50 mag, op een hobbelige baan met mijn Golf II 1600, na elvendertig Zone 30’s te doorkruist hebben…

Tsja, ze moeten wat op dat papiertje zetten zeker?

Die examencentra mogen dringend eens gedeprivatiseerd worden, trouwens. Ik heb het lange type gedaan: leren rijden en manoeuvreren met een familielid. Als je lessen neemt bij de rijschool kost dat ongeveer 1 000 EUR…

Anyway, dat maar om te zeggen dat ik sinds deze morgen mijn rijbewijs heb.
